Solar Street Lights
HOW DOES A SOLAR STREET LIGHT WORK?
A solar street light works the same as a regular street light in that it automatically turns on and off based on the sunlight or at a specific time. A Solar Street Light uses a solar panel to harness renewable electricity from the sun and stores this energy in batteries.
The Bundu Power Solar LED street light comes as a complete package including everything that you need to get the Solar Street Light working. Batteries are placed in a battery box which is placed underground for safety and security purposes.
The solar panel is mounted on top of the pole using a special bracket (supplied) which holds the solar panel at the correct angle for maximum efficiency. Energy is stored in the batteries during the day whilst the light is off. At night the light will turn on as per how you have programmed the light.
The Light mounted on top of the pole is an LED lamp. This energy efficient technology allows the Solar Street Lamp to last for 3 days with poor light.
Solar street lights are hugely popular worldwide as they do not require expensive cabling to be run to each light. In addition there is no copper wire which is a highly sought after commodity in South Africa and abroad. Due to the Street lamp using a renewable energy source, there is minimal to no running and maintenance costs to run a solar street light.
