Inverters
WHAT IS AN INVERTER?
An inverter essentially takes a low voltage direct current input and outputs a higher voltage alternating current output. This is advantageous to hybrid installations as it allows for the low voltage power to be captured and stored in batteries and then only inverted on demand.
This cuts down the cost and complexity of your hybrid installation significantly.
The Inverters used on a Hybrid system differ from the inverters refered to often by home users as a backup system. This inverter is only the box that does the actual inverting without any battery packs built into it. Once installed as a system it is very similar as it is attached to batteries, but as a stand alone unit, this inverter cannot run anything. It needs to be connected to the correct voltage industrial battery intallation to invert and produce the necessary power.
